Did you know, Dal Makhani is traditionally cooked on a low flame overnight and is allowed to thicken? Nowadays, the job is made easier by Pressure Cookers. It is prepared from a combination of whole urad and rajma. Cream and butter is used in the recipe that contribute to it heavenly taste. Since butter is used in its preparation, it is called Dal Makhani. Makhani means buttery. Usually served with naan or parantha, it tastes delicious with plain rice or jeera rice too.
